It's an amazing thing really. I picked up my Pokemon Diamond game and actually started playing again. When I last had left off...oh...back in December, I had at last after hours of play had constructed my final desired party. I was then ready to get to leveling and completing various quests in the post-Elite Four parts of the game.
So why did I suddenly quit? It's a strange thing. You want to hurry up and get to the parts of the game where you can try to catch pretty much anything you want, but at the same time, much of the fun is in the beginning and the steady leveling and evolving. ...as opposed to the often longer training it takes to get one level when your pokemon get...over 50 we'll say.
I guess the games not as fun when you really start running out of random trainers to wipe out. There's the Battle Tower, but that only goes so far, and I dislike restrictions.
I need to someday get the online component. Then I'd play some real people.
In other news...hey deviantArt, I've got a really cool plan. When you're going to do some "system maintenance", why don't you tell me before I try to submit a deviation? Save me five minutes, would you?
I was playing some Unreal Tournament 2004 last night...team deathmatch...a map called Rankin. After three rounds, I realized something very important. I respect those players that play through entire rounds uncomplaining no matter much they suck, no matter how much on a regular basis they get blown to bits.
There was roughly 10-12 players on the map at any one time. Never set as people left and came in. The best on each team were getting roughly 40 frags a match. I'm good in my own right getting 20-25 a match, usually number 2-3 on my team.
The player in question was getting 5-6 kills the entire round...for three rounds. Didn't quit. Didn't complain. I respect that.
